Airport Marriott,
The Show
will be open to the public from 9:00 AM to
We do need some extra help at various times on each day. Please invite trusted
friends, relatives and neighbors to come and help with registration, security,
act as runners, etc. Duty shifts will be one or two hours and should be fun.
PLEASE NOTICE THIS PARAGRAPH - Bobbi Medina has been working on a spread- sheet
to help us determine times we can work at the various jobs during the Show and
still have plenty of time to enjoy the Show. I am forwarding the e-mail she
sent me today, with the spread sheet as an attachment. If you can, please open
the attachment to her e-mail, print off the attachment, think about it, and
bring it to the Show meeting Sunday, August 17. (If you do not have e-mail and
are receiving a hard copy of the Topcutter, then the
spreadsheet is enclosed.)

The July
meeting of the BLCO Guild was held at
Tom Putinsky brought a leather mug and basket to
show. Bill Brown was prepared to do a demonstration but became ill and could
not do the demonstration. He had brought several items which he showed. He had
a picture, wallet and cell phone case he is planning to enter in the Ohio State
Fair.
Bill recently went to the Com Fest on
David and Allan stopped at a show in

BUSINESS PART OF THE MEETING
The
minutes of the June Guild meeting were approved as written. The Treasurer’s
Report was read and approved.
Glenn Dickey recently picked up the mug which L. Jay Vannoy
made for the Santa Maria Project, and sent a thank you note for it.

Mark has
called Ed Lucas and left a message asking for the backboard frame pattern.
On July 19, when Don and Carol Martin go to the Fair Grounds to enter Don’s
Fair entries, they will pick up the free tickets for demonstrators. That way
they can be
distributed at our meeting on July 20. Mark will call the proper Fair personnel
so the free tickets will be ready.
Mark will have the church make up our regular brochures.
Mark will have a poster to put on an easel on our demonstration table at the
Fair, advertising the IFoLG show.
Mark will contact Fred to see if he has contacted Weaver Leather. Allan and
David are going up on Wednesday and can take flyers if necessary.
I was reminded to contact the Simon Kenton Council again to be sure they know
our Guild will be able to teach leather classes at their University in January.
Carol moved that the September 7 Guild meeting by changed to a Show Meeting.
Motion was seconded and passed. There will also be Show Meetings on September
14 and 21.
Don Martin reported that Pat Troesch called him and
asked him to go through Paul’s
leather things. Don and Allan went. Pat wants to sell it all. It has been
priced and marked. Pat is in poor health, diabetic, etc. She is staying at her
son’s house now. The number there is 614-853-1475. Among other things available
there is a brand new air brush. You would need to call her and set up a date to
come and look at things.
The meting
was adjourned and reconvened as a Show Meeting. Respectfully Submitted,
Geraldene Pittenger

NEWS SINCE THE MEETING ON JUNE 29
Several
people from our guild attended the Weaver Auction and flyers concerning the IFoLG Show were distributed there.
The Ohio State Fair was a huge success. Most leather awards were won by our
Guild members. Some entry tags were turned so I could not read them, so I will
not list Guild winners here. Our leather demonstration table was very popular.
Special thanks to all Guild members who entered the fair and to everyone who
demonstrated.
